I Corinthians 7:17 “Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him.’”
God has a plan for each and every one of our lives. We are all called according to his purpose. We are gifted with talents and skills that make us uniquely suited to the life we have. If you were to look at all the preachers currently sharing the word of God, you would find that some have a mellow, laid back delivery while others are loud and passionate. Some wear suits that cost thousands of dollars while others preach in blue jeans and button-down shirts. Some may stand behind mighty pulpits before tens of thousands of church members while others may stand on street corners and alleyways talking to the downtrodden of society. Whatever your particular place, you are uniquely suited to influence those people who are in your circle of friends and co-workers. We are not all called to be Billy Grahams and reach the nations. God needs you where you are because you, and only you, can reach those people he brings into your life and across your path. If you attempt to live a different life, those people who needed you to be where God placed you will continue to be lost without the effect of your influence in their lives.
Pray: “Dear God, I understand that my life is not about me. You have placed me where you have because I am uniquely suited to do what must be done. You have gifted me and called me to make a difference in the lives of those in my family, my place of work, and my circle of friends. Help me to be a good influence on all those I come in contact with and help prepare me for those who do not stay in my life but merely cross my path. Help me to see my life as being important simply because it is the one you have chosen for me. In my Savior’s name I pray - Amen.”
