Phil 2:14-15 “Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.”

Shining as lights in the world requires something more than just Sunday attendance at church. Being a light requires that we live a life before our Heavenly Father and before the crooked and lost generation we are to be lights for that is “without blemish”. We are human, we are not perfect. Although the sacrifice of our Savior and his precious blood washes us white as snow, it is up to us to see that we do not allow ourselves to grumble or question what the Lord asks of us. We are not held accountable for being perfect except in those things that we have been taught and know. Many people make mistakes from ignorance, but in the things that we know we are to be blameless. A light thinks nothing of itself but radiates its energy away from itself. Grumbling and complaining are things that people do who are focused on themselves. As children of the Most High God, our focus is always to be directed away from us. Our God shines his goodness on us so that we can be focused on reflecting that light to the rest of the world.

Pray: “Dear Lord, help me to remember that my life is to be a reflection of your light. I must live a life that is transparent enough to allow your goodness to shine through me to them. I will today accept your instruction without grumbling or questioning, even if I don’t understand, trusting that you, and not I, will see that your plans are fulfilled. Jesus, thank you for counting me worthy to stand for you as a light in this world. Shine through me, Lord, in Jesus’ brilliant name I pray - Amen.”
