Galatians 5:7 “You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?”

Ever been getting ready to walk out the door and the phone rings? Or preparing to log off the computer because you have something to do when suddenly a friend pops on and says “hi”? With all the distractions in our lives today, sometimes it is hard to get moving. Sometimes, if we get distracted often enough or long enough, we end up postponing what we wanted to do or had to do for another day. Sometimes distractions can cause us to miss windows of opportunity. Our enemy the devil knows this. It is not always necessary for him to stop us in our tracks. He doesn’t necessarily need to change our minds about what God is calling us to do. Sometimes, all he needs to do is distract us long enough and we miss the opportunity or else put it off for ‘later’. You heard the Lord’s call, you packed, you prepared, you loaded the vehicle. Now is the time to maintain your focus. Let the phone ring. Let the distractions wait on you. You have business for the Lord. Make that your priority. Don’t let anything slow your start or delay your dream. You have waited long enough!

Pray: Heavenly Father, sometimes I lose my focus and allow myself to get distracted. My heart is not discouraged but little things seem to hinder me. Help me to recognize them for what they are and ignore what is less important. Keep my mind alert to these tricks of our adversary so that I can avoid falling behind or missing the opportunities you provide for me. Thank you, Lord, in my Savior’s name I pray – Amen
