1 Corinthians 7:17a “Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him."

God doesn’t post a list of ‘call openings’ on a bulletin board or a website, or use a ‘lotto’ to determine who gets what will. God’s plan for your life is just that…a plan for your life!  His will is tailor made to bless you. His will may never be for you to pack up and move someplace unknown – but it might be. His plan may never involve you selling all that you own – but it could. In this day, in this time, and at this hour, unless you have received specific instruction from God, it is simply his will that you ‘bloom where you are planted.’ There is enough work to be done everywhere in this world. As we grow in knowledge and faith and attain a maturity in the Christian life, God’s plan will use you in different ways.  Things you could not have done in your youth, you are able to do as you reach greater maturity in the word. As we become ‘seasoned Christians’ we no longer doubt the “what” because the “how” isn’t obvious to us. Living in God’s unique will for your life is challenging to be sure…yet it is also scenic, breathtaking and exhilarating all at the same time!

Pray: “Lord God, today Father I will take my focus off the callings of others. Mine was not meant to be compared to anyone elses. My calling is my own, unique and perfectly suited for how you made me. It grows me in my weaknesses and relies heavily on the strengths you have already given me. I will constantly seek your will for my life, understanding that as I grow and mature you may call me to greater and different things. Until then, Lord, let your light nourish me and let the living waters that flow from your son help me to grow and to bloom where you have planted me. In the matchless name of my dear Jesus I ask this – Amen.”
