John 3:23 “Whoever receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true.”

When light comes into a person’s life, especially a life that has not been exposed to it before, the light cannot simply be ignored. It is so amazingly different from the world of darkness that once light comes into your life, it provokes a response. The strength of darkness lies in its ability to veil or hide the truth. God’s light brings the truth into focus. Once confronted with the truth, a choice must be made. We can no longer pretend that we do not know. Many people avoid the light to avoid having to make that choice. They live their lives as though ignorance will be an excuse for doing things that, deep down inside, they know are not true. Many people prefer to live this way. They embrace the dark and allow the world to sell them a long list of justifications that all sound real good if you don’t look at them too closely. But the truth doesn’t hide in the light, it lives in the light. And only those who choose to seek the truth will step into the light and find it. And those, who hear and receive the Lord’s testimony, will know that God is true.

Pray: Heavenly Father, only those who truly desire to know the truth will step into the light you have sent into the world and find it. I too have been guilty of preferring ignorance at times, knowing that ignorance allows me to have things my way. Forgive the selfishness of my past, which preferred the darkness to light. Now I only desire to know your truth, Lord. And live in the light in which your truth dwells. In my Jesus’ powerful name I give you thanks – Amen
