Jeremiah 29:11 “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
Before you were born God knew you. He had a perfect plan all laid out that, if followed, would bless your life and fulfill the purpose for which you were created. He gave you gifts to enable you to face every obstacle and to find a sense of completion and satisfaction in the life he created you for. Then, he gave you a dream, something that would jump start your heart and fill your waking hours with thoughts of things to come. Unfortunately, life happens. All too often we give up our dreams because circumstances come along which force us to postpone them indefinitely or to steal them outright. Many possibilities come and go as we seek to find our place and to find ourselves. Through all our searching and living, the plan God intended for us sits waiting for us to take the first steps and begin the journey. And the dream, which is the jumping off point for God’s plan, lies dormant, buried under years and cares of this world…waiting. From time to time this dream will remind you it’s still there, still waiting for you to step into God’s future for you. You can’t kill it because it is the path you were meant to walk!
Pray: “Lord God, from the time I was little I have thought about what I want to do with my life. As I got older, my dreams started to connect with things deep inside me. I began to notice that I had a passion for certain things. The world came along and kept pushing my dream away. So much time has passed that I don’t even know if it’s too late or not. Father, if my dream is still your will for me, then reveal to me your plan, open doors for me to begin the journey you’ve had for me from the beginning, and help me to trust that, regardless of what sacrifice is required, it will all be worth it. In my Savior’s holy and precious name I pray – Amen.
