Psalm 37:23 “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.”
Isn’t it great having an amazingly huge God? Our God is ‘almighty’, all-knowing (omnipotent) and ever present (omnipresent). Our God has unlimited resources, the cattle on a thousand hills, uses mountains for footstools and can reach us even to the very deepest depths of the oceans. We have a God who can handle the biggest, most out of control problem we have. Armies coming against you? No problem. Natural disasters? He’s got you covered. In times of great trial, even non-believers instinctively know where to turn for help. But God doesn’t want the only time he sees you to be when your world is crashing down around you! He wants to be a part of all the small details that make up your lives. He wants to give you an unexpected breeze when you’re working in the garden on a hot day. He wants to help get the traffic lights synched up when you’re running just a little late for your job. If you’re picking wallpaper for the baby’s room, he knows just what color will work best! Seek him in the little things. After all, it is the small things on which relationships are built and nothing is too small for our God.
Prayer: “Lord, help me to remember that you want to be involved in the small, mundane things of my life as well as the big things. When I think about it, I realize that intimacy is grown through the sharing of the small things. Father, remind me each time the opportunity arises that you delight to be a part of every little part of my life. In Jesus name I ask - Amen.” Attachment
