Colossians 3:2 “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”

Romans 8:6 “For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”

Godly thoughts are the only road to godly things. There are really only two choices. If you are not thinking on things from above, things of our Heavenly Father, his kingdom and his instructions for us, then you are following the world. Our life isn’t about our achievements or experiences. The most important thing is not what we do but who we become. In whose image will you be shaped? Worldly thinking leads to worldly images. Keeping your mind set on the Spirit will bring life and transform us into the image of our Savior Jesus Christ. So how do we center our life on Christ? It begins, quite simply, with you. Find a place where you can be alone, someplace away from the hustle and bustle of your everyday life. From there, call out to Jesus. Let him lead you. Read from the Scriptures, ask him to reveal them to you. Speak to him from your heart (not with repetitive prayers but with simplicity and sincerity). Play worship music and sing praises to him for his many blessings. Once connected, you can reestablish that connection throughout your day - while driving, eating lunch, in the moments between phone calls etc. It’s a question of life or death…you choose.

Prayer: “Gracious Father, I will not be wise in my own mind, having my mind set on the things of this world and believing I know things when I do not. Teach me to keep my mind focused on heavenly things, on things of my real home and not of this temporary place. Prompt me, I pray, during free moments each day, to seek you out, knowing that you are always available, always ready. I choose today to set my mind on the kingdom. I choose you, Lord Jesus. Help me to put on your mind. Lead me. - In your matchless name I thank you - Amen.”
