Romans 8:11 “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you”
People have a tendency to compartmentalize their lives. They break it up into manageable sections such as family, friends, job, recreation, relationships etc. For most people, their relationship with God, the things they do for him such as attend church, go to a bible study or volunteer in a ministry is just another compartment in their life. All the other compartments deal with the physical world and the natural life in which we all grew up. The “church compartment” however deals with your spiritual life and spiritual growth. It was never intended to be this way. When you accepted Christ and were born again with the spirit of the living God inside of you, your spiritual life became your true life. You went from being a body and soul creature to being a spiritual being whose home and hope of eternity lies entirely in the spiritual world. Your spiritual life should pervade and encompass every area, every ‘compartment’ of your life. Your spiritual life should dictate your actions at work, at home, in your relationships and in every other part of your lives. When you pay careful attention to your spiritual life, it brings life to every other aspect of your existence.
Pray: “Heavenly Father, since I have been adopted into your kingdom as a child of yours, it has been my right to live with spiritual power that comes from my connection with you. For too long I have treated your Holy Spirit as another part of my life instead of the thread that ties the rest of my life together. Open up every compartment of my life, I pray Lord, and allow your spirit to have its way. In the blessed and powerful name of my Savior I pray – Amen
