Job 12:22 “He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings utter darkness into the light.”
The darkness had been cast from heaven long ago. It had come to earth and sought to corrupt all that the Lord had created, all that the Lord had planned. When Jesus came to the earth to save mankind and to restore the relationship between the creation and its creator, he came with another purpose. As light travelled from heaven down to earth, to serve as a beacon and draw men unto himself, he came to do battle with his enemy. The light of knowledge and light of life Jesus brought not only shined on the way back to the Father, but it also came to reveal the enemy to man. The enemy had been hard at work seeking to entrap, lead astray and blind man from all that God wanted for him. Jesus came to expose this enemy and reveal his works for all to see. Utter darkness would be brought to light. Things that only work under cover of night, when hidden in shadow, are rendered useless when light is cast upon it. The light reveals there is no monster under the bed. The light demonstrates there is no boogie man in the closet. The light causes the liar and accuser of men to flee!
Pray: “Heavenly Father, I have lived in fear of the darkness for far too long. My enemy has sought a weakness and tried to use the unknown to hold me at bay. But your son, my Savior, came into this world to show our enemy for what he truly is…a defeated foe. I will no longer give him power over me. I will reveal him to others, even as my Lord Jesus revealed him to me. Thank you, my dearest Lord and brother, for showing me I have nothing to fear. In your holy name, Lord, I pray – Amen
