Psalm 37:5 “Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. Let’s face it…we all need help.

How cool would it be if every time your car made a funny noise or didn’t run right you had a top professional mechanic to work on it? Or, at tax time, a professional who knows all the ins and outs of the tax laws to balance your accounts and file your returns? When trying to decide on a car can you really trust the salesman to give you the ‘whole’ truth? Do you really think it’s best to find your partner for life by going to some internet program that asks you a few questions and sends you some pictures? If you don’t think you need help, ask yourself the next time you’re in a bookstore why one of the largest sections is “Self-Help” books! Your Heavenly Father is standing ready to save you a lot of reading, a lot of wrong turns (and likely more than a few relationship mistakes) if you would just commit ‘everything’ you do to him. Commit means to deliver something into another’s (superiors) care with trust and confidence. To have confidence means once you’ve given it, you don’t worry about it. Are you trusting God confidently today?

Pray: “Lord God, as I learn to trust you I need to be able to confidently let go of things. I haven’t truly committed them to you if I am still holding on in some way or if I am still anxious over what will happen. You have given me every reason to have confidence in you. Today, Father, as I reach up in trust, help me to let go in confidence. In Jesus holy name I pray - Amen.”
