Ephesians 6:14a “Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth’”

The first piece of armor the Lord has given you is the ‘belt’ of truth. It is called a belt because, although it doesn’t act as a protective piece, it is the element of your armor that holds all the other pieces together. The waist, wear the belt is worn, is the core of the body. It is the focal point from which strength radiates and from which the body is able to act. A weak core affects every other part of the body. We learn from God’s word that Jesus is the truth. Therefore all that comes from him is truth. We all determine how we act from what are core beliefs are…what we believe to be true. Regardless of the standard, truth controls, in large part what we do. Contrary to the world’s view, truth is not restrictive, but rather liberating. There is freedom in the truth, not oppression (John 8:31-32). As a Christian, you must believe there is an absolute truth. There is right and wrong. There is a right way and a wrong way, a right path and a wrong path. Knowing the truth keeps you from being deceived and this is probably your enemy’s greatest weapon!

Pray: “Lord, you have brought me the truth. The more truth I know, the harder I will be to trick or deceive. Today I put on my belt of truth. Let the foundation laid by my Lord Jesus, who is my truth, strengthen me at the core and let it be the glue that holds together the rest of my defense against Satan. Jesus, thank you for bringing me the truth – may it lead to glory for the Father through me. This is my prayer and in your name I ask it – Amen.”
