Psalm 37:3 ”Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.”

The road to safety and prosperity is paved with the stones of trust in the Lord. We can never truly prosper at anything we do until we feel safe. Our resources of time, energy, finances etc. will never be 100% committed unless we know it is safe to do so. So how do we know when it is safe? How do we know when to commit to a business, a relationship, a plan? That is where trusting in the Lord comes in. To trust means to have ‘assured reliance in the character, ability, strength and truth of someone’. Do you really know what it means to trust the Lord? Do you know that his character, which is love, is perfect and never fails? (I Cor.13:8) Do you not know that what God intends to do he is able to carry out? (Eph. 3:20) His strength is unmatched in all of history. His only and most dangerous enemy was effortlessly cast from heaven with a bolt of light. We know that the Lord speaks the truth (Isa. 45:19) and that his son, our Lord, is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). There is no one else more deserving of our trust.

Pray: “Heavenly Father, safety and prosperity lies just on the other side of my fully trusting in you. I am so limited by what I can do, and you so unlimited. Today, Lord, teach me to realize more fully that your character, ability, strength and truth are all that I need to be safe and prosperous today. Speak to me, Father – in Jesus name – Amen.”
