Acts 17:23a “For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD…”

Ever notice how easy it is, in the hustle and bustle of life, amidst the accumulated clutter of years to lose something? I mean, it’s even possible to lose things in plain sight! Here was Paul, visiting the ‘think tank’ of then modern Greece. He was there to spread the Gospel to a people who were hardcore polytheists. These guys had gods everywhere! As Paul made his way around the temples, shrines, statues and sacred whatnots, he comes across an altar to God…THE God. There, nestled among all the other gods if anyone cared to look for him. Dreams are kinda like that. They’re like stumbling across some lost treasure while digging through old boxes kept high on closet shelves or in the back corner of some basement or attic. Had you looked carefully, your dream was right there, buried amidst all your ‘crazy ideas’, ‘get-rich-quick schemes’ and ‘one day I’m gonnas”. There it was, for those who knew what to look for…the answer to every need, mixed in among all the worthless idols! Paul said to them: ‘Let me tell you why this is the one that deserves your attention!’ With a careful eye, your dream too will stand out like a diamond in the rough!

Pray: “Heavenly Father, our enemy the devil has done a good job of cluttering up my life so that the dream you gave me gets misplaced or hidden. He has dangled many false dreams before me, getting me to look this way and that and consider one thing after another. But only the dream you have given me, Lord, fits perfectly with the gifts you have given me. Only the dream you have given me helps me fulfill your purpose. Help me to sort through all the ‘other’ things and find the one that has been neglected for too long. Lord Jesus help me in this I pray - Amen”
