Romans 8:35-39 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us form the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Ineffable
. There aren’t words to describe the all encompassing passion and expanse of our Savior’s love. In this world we frequently do things which make us less “loveable” towards others or make us less loveable to others. Even children put the love of parents to the test as they grow older. But there is no circumstance, nothing we can do, nothing we can say, nothing strong enough to make Jesus stop loving you. When you are at your worst, he loves you. When you are mired in sin, his pure white hand reaches out to you unhesitatingly, because he loves you. Satan cannot come between Jesus and you. Distance is no obstacle. Nothing in all of creation can keep his love from you. Love that conquers all things. Why do we so often run from him, as children oftentimes do from their parents, when we have done something wrong? We should be running to him. Forgiveness is waiting there. Love is waiting there. Love that is not easily angered and keeps no record of wrongs (I Cor. 13:5). His love is ineffable. Indescribable. There’s simply nothing you can do! He is going to love you. Accept it. Rejoice in it.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I’m grateful I don’t have to try and wrap my mind around your love. It is too big, too awesome, and there is nothing in this earth that can be used as a reference for comparison. Remind me, Lord, in the times when I am not my best, not being all that you have called me to be, that you love me still. Engrave on my mind and my heart the permanency of your love for me. Help me to know I’m loved, especially when I don’t ‘feel’ loved. Your love will always be enough for me, Jesus. Thank you, my dear Lord and brother - Amen.”
